It is the hallmark statement of the politically correct leftist movement. That philosophy is becoming more entrenched as time goes on. Newsweek first published a cover story about political correctness (PC) titled, "The Thought Police," circa 1991. At that time, even the liberal media were opposed to any form of censorship, any infringement on the freedom of expression, which is what PC is all about. Things have changed drastically since then. Newsweek and Time have adopted PC as their philosophy, and will bend and twist any news story to avoid offense to any group except Christians and conservatives.
