Posted by Lee Russ It may have made a lot of Americans smile, but I suspect it cost us this battle in the PR wars between Iran and the US. In my humble opinion, we are losing that war. Worse, we didn't have to lose this battle. Every point that the Columbia president made as a direct assertion, after having invited the guy to speak, could and should have been made by members of the audience or the media, in a Q & A format. If we don't start getting better at this game, which will require developing some small dab of ability to understand how OTHERS will see things, we might as well hand over the keys to the kingdom and slink away.

All of which will make wonderful television footage for the Iranian to show on Iranian and other Middle Eastern tv, portraying this event as an insulting ambush of a Middle Eastern head of state, creating a lot of sympathy for a man who doesn't deserve sympathy.
