A tragic story from the Ohio Democrat Party" In fact, I recall that when the issue of "wasted quotas" (black students being admitted to programs that they could not complete) became a public embarrassment, a suggestion from the left was to enact graduation quotas. In other words, a minimum number of students would be guaranteed a degree, no matter how incompetent, based SOLELY on their race. When it was asked whether physicians granted medical licenses solely on their race could be trusted with your family in surgery, the question was deemed "racist." When I was at USF, we had a gifted black student in the mathematics program, a very difficult and demanding course. Since no black student had ever graduated this course at USF, everyone was doing all they could to encourage him. (Except for those who accused him of "acting white.") When his work fell below standards, professors and other students stuck to him like glue, tutoring, drilling, pushing, and keeping him away from the, shall we say, social life that is the downfall of many a college student of any race. Last I heard, the fellow was on track to graduate. Now THAT is my idea of a good racial quota system, one that is based on quality, not numbers. The student who wrote the article was right the first time. She was pointing out the flaws of a sham diversity program based on handouts and artificial numbers, not a quality education. But then, she became a liberal.

So, apparently, you agree that discrimination by race fosters diversity. Black dorms, black graduation, quota admissions systems that are not followed up by graduation standards.
