It is enough to have purchased entire districts of schools and colleges. With that kind of investment in wealth-producing activities, poverty could well have been cured, if the government could cure it. Instead, government has created a fourth-generation class of dependent people who are by far more likely to be violent criminals, self-destructive addicts, and the unwed parents of yet another generation of dependent personalities. And NO ONE in government is in the least bit accountable for this travesty. Yet liberals somehow still think that government is the answer. Look at New Orleans, being rebuilt below sea-level, WITHOUT seawalls that can withstand a predicted, inevitable cat-5 hurricane, and most of the money so far has been squandered or stolen. Can you POSSIBLY foresee yet another disaster on the way? But just as the first disaster was foreseen and nothing was done, so also, the NEXT disaster will happen. People will die. And just as predictably, if the one and ONLY elected official within a thousand miles is a republican, HE will get the blame, even if he is the dog-catcher. Your tax dollars at work.

Government welfare programs have been a five trillion dollar boondoggle.
