Posted by Bob on 8/29/2007, 8:58 am Did Plame Send Wilson to Niger? According to the above 2005 article, the answer is not definitive. The White House is most certainly not exonerated in the article. But clearly Plame had some degree of a role in this, and she had a duty to safeguard her status as a covert agent. Details are in the article. As I read it, I could see how one might interpret it according to whatever opinions one carries into it. If you see horns on Cheney's forehead, this artice is going to make you see a pitchfork. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/31/AR2006083101460_pf.html However, this second link concerning the subject matter casts additional light on the matter, and those who are predisposed to see Cheney as the meritless villain, and Wilson/Plame as the utterly blameless heroes, will not be comfortable with this update. Perhaps only a few people will see all this from the perspective of reality, that political figures are primarily politically motivated. The latest? Plame is suing the CIA. The CIA is forbidding her to publish her book, on the grounds that if she does so, it will damage national security. But if her book might make a lot of money, and if it might damage national security, then what do you suppose Plame's motivation is now? Heroes anyone?
