Liberals have, however, continually and repeatedly violated the rights of individuals, using and abusing their official powers. A very long list of court cases, including Supreme Court cases, documents this beyond reasonable doubt. Christian lawfirm websites are updated daily to report on new complaints regarding this, and many of them have noticed that the violators often relent only after the law firms have spent money to press the case. THEN they see the light, and say, oh, we never intended to violate anyone's rights. Yeah. Like they never heard of the Bill of Rights, "...nor prohibit the free exercise thereof." They apparently can't figure out what that means. Religious practice is not confined by the Constitution to the home and church. People have the right to set up a soapbox on the street corner, if they wish, and express their views, religious or secular ALIKE without discrimination between them. Wherever one is permitted, so is the other, fully and completely, with no "except for religion" clause in the Constitution. NONE. It matters not who is offended. Yet in locales where secular speech is almost never restricted, religious speech is often singled out as "offensive," tainted, unprotected, and to be prohibited. The threat to First Amendment liberties comes primarily from the left. It is ludicrous that it is the left that complains.

I do not doubt that there are Christian activists who would enforce their own particular views. They are opposed by a majority of Christians, including myself. And history shows that such ideas do not have support in the Christian community, and pose no real danger to the union. They did not for 200 plus years, and they do not now.
