Posted by Bob on 8/13/2007, 5:47 am, in reply to "Re: Airport Security is a Total Sham" One might say that 9/11 was an isolated incident, too. Here in my home town, a security guard noticed a gun in a man's luggage, and told him to "wait here" while she went to look for a supervisor. Well surprise, surprise, when she and the supervisor got back, the man and his luggage had disappeared. Who would have thought that THAT would happen? They closed down the airport while they searched for him, and never did find him. Nobody, but nobody, who took security in the slightest degree of seriousness would have allowed this to happen. In the meantime, six-month-old infants have been denied flights because their names appeared on "no fly" lists. Grandmothers get frisked, while young Arab men are ushered through the gate without so much as a pat down, because after all, we can't discriminate based on the fact that so far, all airline terrorists have been young Arab men, and not one has been a grandmother. An airport in Texas was found to have left its security system entirely unmanned for hours at a time, every day, while illegal aliens had free and unfettered access to all planes and luggage. Airline security is cosmetic only.

There are an awful lot of isolated incidents lately, and airport personnel are reluctant to go public with them.
