I also have difficulty believing most of those others quoted in the original posting are all that different. That is to say that I think they are all extremely adept at using religion and the beliefs of others in much the same manner.

Hitler is difficult to interpret, especially his religious views. His actions speak of one set of views, while his words characterize an alternate set of views. This, in some ways, makes him an enigma.
