Posted by Lee Russ on 8/6/2007, 1:51 pm, in reply to "Re: Bad News From Iraq" You excerpted three points from Kelly. One of those points was: "If Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. troops in Iraq, says things are getting better when he reports to Congress in September, that could be "a real big problem," House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), told the Washington Post Monday. ..." That is either a gross misrepresentation or a lie. If Kelly and you can get one of the three points you excerpted that wrong, then why should anyone trust you on the other two points? Your claim that Democrats are "invested" in defeat has been addressed before and nothing has changed. They are "invested" in Iraq going badly only in the way that your boys were "invested" in Bosnia going badly, and are "invested" in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid going badly. In legal terminology, your observation is more apparent than real. Your "question" does the prospect of a major US success in Iraq just make you cringe? is so insulting it doesn't deserve an answer.

Your response doesn't seem to have anything to do with what I said.
