Instead, it forces one to take the position I have outlined. In other words, the razor does not work on evidence alone. It must take all things into account when providing the simplest explanation.

The simplest explanation is not that we are alone though, because probability theory provides such an overwhelming case that we are not. When one adds in the vast distances between stars, the lack of current evidence means extremely little.
