Posted by Bob on 7/31/2007, 6:36 am, in reply to "Re: Correcting the Record on Valerie Plame" It is almost inconceivable, given the aptitude and resources of Cheney, that he knowingly and wilfully outed an active CIA agent. He had safer, and more effective, recourses. If Plame were indeed an active agent, as it now appears, then she certainly was reckless in her actions, insofar as deigning to protect her status with due diligence. One does not sensibly embroil one's spouse in a highly sensitive, politically charged case, go public with an accusation against the president, all without using a proxy, and then have a "duh" moment when the inevitable scrutiny lifts off the cover. Common sense dictates that she would have recommended keeping Joe Wilson far away from this matter. If I'm wrong, then show me where. But stop this nonsense about blaming everything, including my questions, on right-wing propaganda.

I've read the statement and the points I made remain. No one has been charged with "outing" Plame. If the evidence is there, then I strongly endorse pressing the case until Cheney and/or Bush rot in prison. Why is NOT the case being pressed?
