Someone who was heterosexual, but outrageously immoral, might be an acceptable civil engineer, but not a public official who represents the community. Presidents should be whomever the people choose, on whatever basis they choose. The original article does, I believe, show that religious faith is not anathema to excellence in scientific inquiry, logic, or reason, although some people today would argue the opposite.

I have stated many times that some homosexuals can be better parents than some heterosexuals. I just think that we should strive for the ideal, and recognize accommodations as just that, and not confuse them with the ideal.
