You can be religious and scientific (I recently posted a reference to a scientist and a Christian who was pointing out that intelligent design is a trap for Christians, for example); it is the born again, zealot, dogmatist who invariably subverts science. That certainly describes our current federal government. From many of your comments here, it probably describes you, as well. But don't try to defend yourself by hiding behind the shield of religion itself.
