Because it ends in "y", I suspect that it is an Americanized nickname of the Irish form of Elizabeth. Eilis (with a fada accent over the second i -- sorry that I can't type it on this computer)is the Gaelic form of Elizabeth and is typically pronounced EYE-leesh. You will find info on the name on this website. It can be also be spelled without the fada and with an h at the end -- Eilish.
