My name, Nyia, has been handed down for many generations. Our family comes from Ireland and Scotland, primarily, with the recent addition of Italian, but this name has come from the Celtic side of the family. I suspect the spelling has been changed, possibly from Nia or some other variation, but spelled this way since at least my great-grandmother and great-great aunts.
