Posted by ASA Late Model Series on 10/3/2005, 12:59 pm The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts may be coming to your town in 2006. This innovative series has captured the hearts of the fans, the spirit of the teams and the interest of the top promoters and companies in the country. The 2006 season is sure to make a splash in almost every corner of the county. The series which debuted in 2003 as the USPRO Racing Series is becoming one of the hottest racing establishments in the country. The ASA Late Model Series will expand in 2006 with three separate divisions; North, South and Challenge. The Series and teams will have a major presence throughout the USA. The series will host an Owner/Driver Meeting on January 14th at the Quality Inn Banquet Center on January 14th 2006 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This meeting will run from 9am to 12pm and will be open for all divisions. We encourage all teams that plan to run with the series in any division to attend or send a representative to the meeting. The meeting will cover technical issues, personal conduct, safety, standard policies and procedures, official introductions, registration, awards and payouts, schedules, travel, marketing and the 2006 agenda. It will be a great time to meet other competitors that have been with the series for the last few seasons as well as meet new teams that will join on in 2006. This is also a great opportunity for teams that would like their input to be considered. The ASA Late Model Series values our team’s opinions and it is our goal to continue the tradition of having a series that is formed around that concept. The meeting will include a question and answer session and officials will be available post meeting to talk with the teams. The cost to attend the owner/drivers meeting is free, but it is mandatory that you register if you plan to attend. Coffee will be available during the meeting. Later in the day will be the 2005 ASA Late Model Series Annual Awards Banquet from 6pm to 12am. The Series will honor the top twenty in points, The GMPP Winner’s Circle participants, GMPP Shoot-out points Champion, special sponsored awards and some surprise awards. The banquet is a semi-formal event and we encourage everyone to put on their best for this event. The series will continue with the tradition that started with our 1st annual banquet to begin the awards presentation 1st followed by dinner and dancing. Everyone is welcome to attend to celebrate our top 2005 teams, attendance is mandatory for teams receiving awards. Tickets for the banquet must be purchased in advance through the ASA LMS Office – 800-385-2503. The Quality Hotel has blocked a number of rooms for this event and they can be reserved for Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th by calling 260-484-7711 and letting them know you are with the ASA Late Model Series for $59 per night or by calling 877-240-2929 and giving the ASALMS membership code of #00802174. Please reserve your rooms by January 1st 2006 to ensure availability. The Annual Awards Banquet is a very special event for the series, it is the one time of the year where officials, teams, sponsors, track promoters and our family members can get together and enjoy some camaraderie. During the fast paced racing season, things get hectic, heated and in the case of the ASA Late Model Series this year (wet) due to rain. The Banquet allows teams and officials alike to remember why we do this and how much we really enjoy each other. No matter how big the series grows the one thing that will remain intact is the bond that holds the series and the teams together.
