MIS Turns Back the Clocks on August 5th
Oregon (WI) Fans both young and old will be treated to a night of memories on Friday, August 5th when Madison International Speedway hosts its first annual Racer's Reunion. "The track here at Madison has a very rich history. Some of the best short track drivers in the country have raced here at one time or another. We thought it would be a great time to invite some of them back to meet their fans and relive some of their fondest memories of racing at Madison," said promoter Steve Einhaus. "We have invited many of the past track champions and weekly competitors from the seventies and eighties to get together and meet their friends and fans," added Einhaus.
Drivers such as Johnny Ziegler, Jim Sauter, Tom Reffner, Rich Bickle, Bobby Gunn, Vaughn Gehrke and many more have been invited. Einhaus added, "Although they won't be racing, the guys I have talked to are very excited about coming back."
In addition to the drivers who will be in attendance, the Stock Car Classics series will also be on hand with several vintage stock cars from the past. "These restored cars will not only be on display but racing as well," commented Einhaus. "We've had a similar series here in the past and the fans really enjoyed seeing the cars. There should be a great variety in the cars for this event."
The evening's activities will be sponsored by Laborers Union 464, and will also include round three of the Mid American Stock Car Series Triple Crown, the Weaver Auto Parts ASA Late Models, and the Bryden Motors Super Late Models. Jonathan Eilen of Hampton, Minnesota, and Jeremy Spoonmore of Somanauk, Illinois, have claimed the first two victories in the Mid Am Triple Crown. Pit gates open at 3:30 with hot laps at 4:45, qualifying at 6:30 and racing at 8:00.

Midwest Enduro Series returns to Madison International Speedway
Oregon (WI) Picture more than fifty cars on Wisconsin's Fastest Half-Mile paved oval. Now picture those cars all on the track at the same time and racing for 250 action-packed laps. It's crazy and wild and it's all coming to Madison International Speedway on Sunday, August 14.
After an absence of several years, the Midwest Enduro Series is returning to MIS. "Fans are going to love this special event. The enduro cars put on a great show and you never know what to expect. The interest in the racing community is high for this event since the drivers are excited about racing on the big half-mile," said MIS promoter Steve Einhaus.
The Midwest Enduro event is just part of the day's excitement. A roll-over contest and demolition derby are also on the schedule. "Almost anyone can have a chance to come to MIS and be part of the show on the 14th.
If you have a demo derby car and/or a car to enter in the roll over contest, this is your opportunity," added Einhaus. The Old Wisconsin Sausage / Buddig Meats 250 is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
