Greetings .... Just a note to let everyone know the status of our various projects regarding Ray Nichels and Nichels Engineering. First … it appears we are now on schedule for a late autumn book signing by Ray Nichels. Once the 2,000 hard back bound copies of “Conversations with a Winner – The Ray Nichels Story” are shipped, we will issue a series of press releases and personal e-mails to all of those of you who are on our list to inform you of the specific date and time that Ray Nichels will sign copies of this book about his life in racing. The signing will take place at Bridges Scoreboard in Griffith, Indiana. We will issue the book signing information 4-6 weeks prior to the date of the our gathering to give everyone a chance to schedule their travel plans. We would also like to report that three more magazine articles about Ray’s career will be completed in the next several months. The authors are Don Keefe (article soon to be in Collectible Automobile Magazine), Roger Meiners (article to be in MOPAR Magazine in early 2006), and Paul Zazarine (article to be published in an upcoming Automobile Quarterly discussing the 1963 Nichels Engineering Daytona winning #50 Pontiac LeMans). Many of you may remember the six magazine articles that I was fortunate to work on with Don Keefe last year, with one appearing in Mopar Muscle Magazine (March 2005) and the other five in High Performance Pontiac Magazine (Sept, Oct. Nov, and Dec. 2004) We are also very pleased to announce that through a partnership with Merchandising Incentives Corporation of Troy, Michigan, Nichels Engineering and LaDow Publishing, we now have three Nichels Engineering 1/18 scale die cast cars now available for purchase. Many of you remember the world class stock cars that were built at the Nichels Engineering "Go-Fast Factory" in Griffith, Indiana in the 1960s and 1970s. These die cast cars are beautifully made replicas of the those Chrysler Winged-Warriors. We are also in the process of design reviews of the 1969 Nichels Engineering #99 Dodge Charger 500 driven by Paul Goldsmith. This is the car Mr. Goldsmith drove during his final season driving in NASCAR. We hope to make this die cast car available soon.
