GREEN MAMBA AND THRILLS MADE ROCKFORD ROCK By: Kevin Ramsell A great crowd was on hand to witness a Mid-Summer Night Scream. The highlight of the night was a visit by Doug Rose and his Green Mamba Jet Car. Rose ended the night of thrills and action by burning a Dodge Van to the ground. Chad Kiefer won the 13-lap Hornet Swarm. It was a wild 26-car event. Kiefer started on the front row, and it showed it was the best place for him to be as he avoided the multiple incidents on the track. It was Kiefer?s third feature win of the year. Tim Schinderling captured the Dukes of Hazzard Jumping Contest. His jump of over 100 feet brought the packed grandstands to their feet. The Figure 8 feature event had Pat Smith capturing his first feature of the night. It was basically a game of Survivor as he was the only car to finish the race. A total of 15 school buses took the green flag in the School Bus Figure 8 race. An excited Ken Nelson came home with the victory. This Wednesday night its another Full Throttle Wednesday featuring the Grand Nationals, Figure 8?s, Winged Women on Wheels, and RoadRunners. Plus, there will be a Stereo Sound off. Racing starts at 7:07 p.m. Then next Saturday night, it?s the Mid-Season Championships. The NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series starts at 7:07 p.m. with the NASCAR Late Models, Budweiser American Short Trackers, and the Coca-Cola RoadRunners. Plus, its Fan Photo Night.
