BEHNKE, CARLSON, MAYBERRY & DOBBS TAKE FULL THROTTLE WINS By: Kevin Ramsell Dave Behnke, Dan Carlson, Jack Mayberry, and Wanda Dobbs capture feature wins as Windsor's Auto Sales sponsored Full Throttle Wednesday at the Rockford Speedway. Dave Behnke and Matt Lundberg put on another great show again in the Grand National Feature event. Chad Leahy grabbed the early lead in the 25-lap feature event. Dave Behnke started on the outside of the second row with Lundberg behind him. On lap 7, Behnke got on the inside of Leahy to take over the top spot. Lundberg followed Behnke to take over second. With 10 laps to go, Lundberg got inside of Behnke to try to take over the top spot. The two ran side-by-side all the way to the finish line. Just like a week ago, it was Behnke barely beating Lundberg at the checkers. Current Point Leader, Travis Eldridge, had rear end problems and only completed one lap in the feature. As a result, both Fred Nason and Lundberg moved ahead of Eldridge in the points. In fact, Nason and Lundberg are now tied with 423 points. Eldridge fell back to third with 420 points. Brock Behnke sits in fourth with 418 points. Dan Carlson captured his sixth feature win in the Coca Cola RoadRunner division. Derek Nichol grabbed the early lead in the 20-lap feature event. Billy Robinson got on the inside on lap 3 to grab the top spot from Nichol. The only caution flew on lap 10 when Pat Smith and Dan Sanders made contact on the front stretch causing Sanders to spin. Jerry Mesch tried to get by Sanders but hit his front end. Sanders was able to walk away, but was done for the night. Robinson continued to lead at the re-start. On lap 11, Dennis Smith got on the inside of Robinson and took over the top spot. Carlson worked his way up to second by lap 13. With four laps to go, Carlson made his move to the inside to grab the lead. But, Smith stayed with Carlson and made it a great battle to the finish line with Carlson heading to victory lane. Wanda Dobbs captured the first Winged Women on Wheels 15-lap feature event. Dobbs started on the pole and grabbed the lead at the start. The best battle was for second between Amy Flippo and Gina Davies. Flippo got on the inside of Davies with two laps to go. The two raced side-by-side all the way to the checkered flag. Dobbs captured the win with Flippo getting past Davies for second. Dobbs started shotgun on the field for the second WWOW 15-lap feature. It didn't take long for her to work her way to the front. On lap 2, she was already up to second place. On the next lap she took the lead. But, it wasn't an easy drive for her as Shonna Frisch stayed behind Dobbs and made several attempts to get on the inside. But Dobbs was able to hold her off for the win. Dobbs did take the overall win for the WWOW division. Jack Mayberry picked his fourth Figure 8 feature win. Jim Dougherty grabbed the early lead. About half way through the event, NASCAR officials found that Dougherty was leaking fluid and was given the black flag. This handed the lead over to Mayberry as he cruised to the win. Mark Vicencio took home the 13-lap Hornet Swarm. Steve Talley grabbed the lead at the standing start. Valley would continue to lead until lap 7 when he went high in turn two. This allowed Vincenio to get on the inside as they went towards the infield chicane. As they came out of the chicane, it was Vincencio with the lead. Vincencio would go on to his first feature win in the Hornet division. This Saturday night it's a Mid-Summer Night Scream featuring Doug Rose and his Green Mamba Jet car.
