REYNOLDS TAKE FIFTH WEEKLY FEATURE WIN By: Kevin Ramsell Saturday, July 02, 2005 (Loves Park, IL) - Jon Reynolds Jr, Dan Sanders, and Tim Steger captured feature wins on Instant Jungle Night at the Races. Reynolds Jr held off Ricky Bilderback for his fifth feature win of the season in the NASCAR Late Model division. George Bohn took the early lead in the Instant Jungle 30-lap feature event. But the lead didn't last long as Chad Misslich took over the top spot on lap 3. On lap 6, Reynolds got on the inside of Misslich. The two raced side-by-side for a lap until Reynolds gained the top spot. Bilderback followed Reynolds and took over second. Reynolds and Bilderback put on a great show for the fans as they battled for the top spot. Bilderback did everything he could to get on the inside of Reynolds. But, Reynolds car was working great on the high line and was able to hold off Bilderback for the win. Matt Berger came home third with Bobby Wilberg and Bohn rounding out the top five. "That is the hardest one yet. I always wanted to that?run the high line and hold Ricky off for the win." Reynolds said in victory lane. Tim Steger held off Brett McCoy and George Sparkman to take home a wild 25-lap Budweiser American Short Tracker feature. It took three attempts to get the AST feature started. But, when they finally got going it was Steger in the early lead. George Sparkman started fifth and worked his way towards the front. By lap 15, he was up to third. McCoy raced Steger cleaned as he made several attempts to get by him. With three laps to go, you could cover the top five with a blanket as Steger and McCoy battled for the top spot. On the last lap, as Steger and McCoy came off the final corner, George Sparkman got on the inside to make it a three wide drag race to the finish line. At the line, it was Steger first with McCoy second as he went sideways and spun towards the infield. Sparkman came home third. BJ Sparkman and Dave Wagner rounded out the top five. Dan Sander held off Dan Carlson to capture the Coca Cola RoadRunner feature. Kyle Rogers grabbed the early lead in the 20-lap feature event. The only feature of the event came out on lap 5 when Charles Froning made hard contact with the turn three wall. The car than rolled down the banking and collected Ricky Nielsen. Froning did complain for some neck and shoulder pain and was taken for observation. On the re-start, Rogers continued to lead. On lap 7, Greg Pruitt got on the inside of Rogers to take over the top spot. Dave Lignell and Dan Sanders followed Pruitt. Sanders continued to move towards the front as he got past Lignell for second on lap 13. Two laps later, Sanders challenged Pruitt for the top spot and took over the lead. Carlson followed Sanders to take over second. Sanders held off Carlson all the way to the finish line for the win. Lignell, Pruitt and Pat Smith rounded out the top five. Racing action continues on Sunday night with the Grand Nationals, Winged Women on Wheels and Hornets in action sponsored by Villani?s Specialty Auto Parts. Plus, there will be Spectacular Drags and a 10,000-WATT Fireworks Extravaganza. Racing begins at 7:07 p.m. Then on Monday, July 4th, Gilley's Heating and Air Conditioning presents Monday Funday @ Night. The NASCAR Late Models, RoadRunners, Legends, Bandoleros, Super Cup, and FIRA will be in action. Plus, the Paul Revere Midnight Ride. The evening will be capped off with a 10,000-WATT Fireworks Extravaganza.
