Posted by Kankakee Speedway on 6/25/2005, 10:17 am Jim Farris ran a strong third (showing again that he is fully recovered from his early season elbow surgery) and Joel Funk made a late pass on point leader Kevin Hastings to grab fourth. The Indiana Super Street Division made its debut here, but it was a homecoming for Dave Rudisill who lives nearby and has raced in two other divisions on this track. He won his heat and took the early lead in his feature. Then, it was only a matter of holding off the challenges, frist from Butch Meeker and later from Ed Lahey to earn the win. The Street Stock show was headlined by the third annual Josh Kohler Memorial Feature, and Kevin Lenzen became the third different winner. Don McCarty was second and Jay Hamilton was third. Darrin Kohler (a cousin of Josh's and winner of the first event) wound up fifth, behind Brett Peters. Results: Open-Wheel Modified Fast Time: Bob Pohlman 16.845 First Heat: 1. Jim Farris; 2. KANKAKEE, IL -- With the Late Models Division drivers taking a night off, Bob Pohlman (who often does double duty in a Late Model and a Modified) took center stage at the Kankakee Valley Motor Speedway Friday (June 24). He ended Dan Hamstra's run of three straight Open-Wheel Modified feature wins -- and did it with convincing low-groove style.
