Posted by Kankakee Speedway on 6/14/2005, 11:54 am Teddy The Tornado as the fans now refer to him blasted to the lead at the first green flag and led all the way, with only two brief challenges. Midway through, eventual runnerup John Provenzano pulled even with a super low-side charge, but Loomis powered back to a two car-length lead. With only three laps remaining, RJ Gall came skating up on the slick middle groove and gave the two front runners a scare. He had to settle for third, just ahead of current point leader Frank Heckenast Jr. The teenage Heckenast had to make a come-from-behind effort after a first-lap tangle sent him to the back of the pack. In the Open-Wheel Modifieds, Dan Hamstra made it two in a row with a comfortable feature win. Bob Pohlman held on for second, after a strong run by third-place Dave Porth. Don McCarty had to come through the semi-feature and came all the way from the back of the Street Stock feature to pick up his checkered flag. Kevin Lenzen was second and Darrin Kohler borrowed the Robert Turner car to run third. Summaries: Late Model Division Fast time: RJ Gall 14.846 First Heat: 1. Ted Looms; 2. Frank Heckenast, Sr.; 3.
