Bickle to Race MIS Opener

Madison International Speedway promoter Steve Einhaus has announced that Rich Bickle Jr. will be returning to Wisconsin's Track of Champions for the season opener on Sunday, May 1.
Bickle is a past track champion with titles in both 1985 and 1986. Bickle has sixteen career feature wins at Madison which makes him eleventh on the all-time list. The season opener includes the first-ever appearance by the Wisconsin Challenge Series for super late models. Also on the racing card will be the Big Eight Limited Late Model Series.
"We are very excited about our opener. The WCS and Big Eight Series will bring big numbers of cars to Madison. It is going to be a great day of racing and we are very happy to have Rich racing with us, " said Einhaus. Bickle will be amongst a talented field of drivers that includes the return of Madison's all-time feature winner Dick Trickle.
Pit gates for the May 1 race will open at 10:00 AM. Hot laps will be at Noon with qualifying at 1:30. Racing action will begin at 3:00 PM. An open practice day will be held from Noon - 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 30 for all divisions that will be racing at MIS in 2005.
Weekly racing action in 2005 returns to Friday nights with the opener set for Friday, May 6. There will be plenty of action in the WEAVER AUTO PARTS ASA Late Models, CARQUEST Super Late Models, ROCKWEILER INSULATION Midwest Trucks, and the BRYDEN MOTORS Area Sportsman.
