Jefferson Adds Big 8 to Wisconsin State Championships Loves Park, IL- Big 8 Series officials have announced that Jefferson Speedway has added the series to the 25th annual Wisconsin State Championships slated for Friday and Saturday September 16 and 17. The event will feature twin 50 lap features for the Big 8 Series competitors on Saturday night. “We are very proud to be part of this prestigious event, it adds to the annual events such as Spring Classic, Oktoberfest, Fall Classic and the National Short Track Championships that we plan on being an important part of for years to come.” Stated Big 8 Series promoter Gregg McKarns. Details for this event are being finalized at this time, when more information is available it will be posted on www.big8series.com and www.jeffersonspeedway.com. The format and pay schedule is expected to mirror that of the Wisconsin State Championships in 2004. Thirty five teams rolled through the pit gate at Rockford Speedway last weekend for the season opening Big 8 Series event, Mike Beyers topped Ricky Bilderback to claim the win and point lead. A total of seven events have now been scheduled for this series in 2005. Sunday afternoon May 1 marks the next stop on the series when it visits Madison International Speedway, joining the Wisconsin Challenge Series, Rich Bickle, Todd Kluever and the legendary Dick Trickle.
