Grundy County Speedway's 2004 Street Stock Champion Chris Sontag, announced plans to run for Rookie of the Year in the Late Model divison at Grundy in 2005. Chris will be running a brand new Rander Car chassis with his 2005 Monte Carlo body. Sponsors for the 2005 season will include Sontag Speed Supply, Sontag Race Cars, S & P Carpentry, Zelmo's, SRH Plumbing, Five Star race car bodies, Brandalino Music, and The Roundboy Report. After a outstanding year in 2004 that included seven feature wins and fast time twelve out of fourteen nights, Chris's older brother Billy will be once again be setting the car up in 2005. Chris is the younger brother of Brett who is a two time Grundy Champion in 2002 and 2003. Along with running Grundy full time Chris says he plans to maybe run a few races at Illiana Speedway and possibly Madison.
