Team 16 motorsports and former driver Eric Fransen saw great successes on numerous Midwest ovals. Schumacher commented, "I look forward to building upon the past successes of Team 16. We are going to be very competitive and we are going to win races." Regarding the 2005 race season, Team 16 and Nick Schumacher will run weekly at Slinger Super Speedway for Rookie of the Year. As well, they will race a few events in MARS and the NASCAR Autozone Midwest Series. Schumacher began his racing career with Badger Karts in the late 1980's. Since then, Schumacher has raced throughout the upper-Midwest and has accumulated numerous wins and top ten finishes in championship points. "I have always been the owner, manager and driver for my race teams. I am thankful for the opportunity to drive for the DelCamps and Team 16. This will allow me to focus solely on winning races. 2005 will be a great season," commented Schumacher.
