late model schedule announced for 2005
AllStar Racing Series paved track late models in 2005.
There are seven events listed for Wisconsin, seven events in
Minnesota and two races planned in Missouri.
One of the highlights of the 2005 slate will be a Sunday afternoon,
Aug. 28 event on The Milwaukee Mile during the Governors Cup Weekend.
Also on the card for the Aug. 27-28 weekend on the one-mile oval in West Allis, WI will be the USAC Sprint Cars, NASCAR Auto Zone Elite Series, Mid-Am Super Trucks, Mid-American Stock Cars and Midwest Stock Car Classics.
The series returns for the seventh straight season for the running
of the 34th annual Red, White & Blue State Championship at Wisconsin
International Raceway in Kaukauna on Saturday nights, June 11, July 23
and Aug. 13. Twin 50-lap features are planned on the D-shaped half-mile along with the Mid-American Stock Car Series and limited late models.
The MARS Seris will also be the sanctioning body for the AC Delco
Late Model Series Saturday nights, June 25 and Aug. 6 along with Sunday night, Sept. 4 at the Elko Speedway in Elko, MN.
The series returns to Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI
after an absence of two years. The two events at the MIS half-mile are planned Friday nights, June 17 and Sept. 2. There will also be a special non-point event for MARS cars at MIS Tuesday night, June 28 during the Miller Nationals.
The series opener will be at the high banked I-70 Speedway half-mile
in Odessa, MO Saturday night, May 28. A second non-point event will be run at I-70 during the World Cup
Weekend Saturday, Oct. 1.
The series also makes three stops on the wide I-94 Raceway in Sauk
Centre, MN where all the 2004 sevents were photo finishes. Those
events will be run on the 3/8-mile paved oval Saturday nights, June 4,
Saturday night, July 30 and the season championship point event Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18.
A return engagement is also planned at the 3/8-mile Fergus Falls
Raceway in Fergus Falls, MN after a highly successful 2004 race. This
year's date at Fergus Falls is Friday night, July 29.
