Board Administrator
Eilen wins as Bauer blows up
in Lake Geneva Mid-Am race
misfortune to win the Yellow Book USA Mid-American Stock Car Series 45
Sunday afternoon at the Lake Geneva Raceway.
Bauer set a new track record during qualifying runs among the 34
Mid-American cars on hand.
He took the lead on lap 32 when he drove under Eilen in turn two.
However, Bauer's motor let go on the final lap as he entered turn
three. With fluids on the track and cars sliding in all directions,
the race was red flagged.
The event was restarted and Eilen was able to hold off Bobby
Gutknecht to take his third win of the season.
Following Eilen and Gutknecht were series point leader Peter
Hernandez, Jeremy Spoonmore, Jeremy Miller, James Swan, Gary LaMonte,
Brett Piontek, George Schultz and Kenny Smart.
The final race for the Yellow Book USA Mid-American Stock Cars is
Saturday night, Oct. 9 at the LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West
Salem, WI. They will be joined by the Yellow Book USA Super Trucks and a
number of other divisions for the annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend on the
half-mile paved oval.
