The event will be held in the “heated” garage area of the local superspeedway, where the stars of NASCAR and the Indy Racing League compete each summer.! The show will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with admission being $4.00 for adults and children, 12 and under admitted free. Vendors from a five-state area will display some 90 tables of auto racing memorabilia and collectibles. Die cast cars, plastic models, trading cards, racing programs and yearbooks, along with vintage racing photos, will be given the once over by racing fans and collectors alike. The strictly-auto racing show is the largest! of its kind in the area. In addition to the memorabilia and collectibles part of the show, numerous former area racing champions will gather to chat with race fans about the "good old days" of racing and even sign an autograph or two. Drivers and cars owners of the United Midget Auto Racing Association (UMARA) are slated to display a number of their powerful, open-wheel midget racing cars, weather permitting. The speedway is located three miles south of Interstate 80 just west of Illinois Route 53. Show attendees should use Gate 5 on Laraway Road to access the track’s tunnel between turns three and four in able to enter the speedway’s infield/garage area.
