
Posted by Grundy County Speedway on 11/21/2005, 1:27 pm Three feature wins, four second pace showings and three thirds earned Claypool the title by just twelve points over Nick Clubb. Clubb, from Morris, claimed two feature wins, four second place finishes and two third place showings to keep in the championship battle to the final event of the season. Alex Clubb, son of late model driver Brian Clubb, had seven to three finishes and fourteen top ten tallies to win third place in the points battle. Chet Hartley, from Joliet, scored three feature wins and had seven top five finishes, resulting in a fourth place finish in points, with Todd Gladkowski, claiming fifth win one feature win. A special drawing was held at the end of the presentations from Five-Star Race Car Bodies, with Pat Kelly winning the late model prize and Stacy Kelley being awarded the Mid-American prize. The management of the Grundy County Speedway would like to take the opportunity to thank all the fans, drivers and crews that made 2005 a great success and we look forward to 2006. Racing will get under way next season on the last Friday in April at the Grundy County Speedway, with open practice being announced by the first week of April, 2006.

In the newly formed four-cylinder division, eleven different drivers won feature events in 2005, with Jason Claypool taking home the championship.
