Ruled by Venus (goddess of love) this suggests that it's a time of letting go of something we love that has been good but now no longer serves us. Venus is opposed by Mars, so there's plenty of passion but it's also volatile. It's the traditional battle of the sexes. Venus in Scorpio has an element of revenge and connects with Chiron (the wounded healer) so the fight is about a past betrayal which hasn't been fully healed. The lunar eclipse is October 17th. Healing Disillusion Rather than thinking that life should give us something, far better to start giving to life, and to others. To have the courage to let go of our disappointments, our lost dreams, means that a new life can begin. Chuck Spezzano says "Change your direction - head back towards love and life. Put the pain and illusion of the past and the future in the hands of God."
Eclipses in October
This is the month of eclipses, a time of change and letting go. Eclipses are a churning energy, they are difficult days best spent in quiet meditation.
The New Moon is a solar eclipse on October 3rd at 10 degrees Libra. If your birthday is 1st October to 6th October you'll have a year of change ahead. Since Jupiter is in the same sign as the eclipse this promises to be a good year for you.
At the full moon eclipse the wound becomes very evident. The Sun/ Moon opposition squares Chiron, indicating that it's ready to be healed. Chiron is making its last move through the final degrees of Capricorn. Capricorn is governed by Saturn and rules the knees. This represents the humility when we get down on bended knees to pray. It's a very good time to forgive and to lay aside grievances from the past.
Saturn and Neptune are also involved with these eclipses. Saturn is the past karma, and Neptune illusion. Combined negatively they can lead to sacrifice and disillusion.
Disillusion is very painful, it's all the desires we've had which have been thwarted. Everything we wanted and expected our life to be. All the shattered dreams we've had. These dreams are what holds us back.
