Posted by Pam Curruthers on 23/4/2007, 5:52 pm The mystics and jyotishis are saying this is the year for enlightenment. Vedic astrologers (jyotishis) know that this can be shown by the planets that represent moksha (enlightenment) lining up together. These days are very auspicious for meditation and being in the presence of true spiritual teachers or in a temple or church - a sacred place. A time* this year which is very auspicious for enlightenment is today and tomorrow, Tuesday April. Mars will join Rahu at 5.12am BST at 19°42' Aquarius (sidereal zodiac) Lunar mansions are called Nakshatras and they give deeper meaning to our birth charts. They are based on the position of the Moon. If you have a planet (in the Western system) between at 12-14° Pisces or opposite at the same degrees in Virgo you are connected totally with this energy. Mars and Rahu have been in this lunar mansion since 8th April but only tomorrow are they exactly conjunct. By 14.35pm BST Mars will have changed nakshatra. Reflect on any anger issues which have arisen since the April 4th. They are a distraction from your truth and your purpose. 24. Shatabhishak 6°40' - 20° Aquarius It is the experience of unity with the cosmos that is essential. This feeling of cosmic unity can be achieved by natural means (through meditation), but also artificially (through alcohol). Both ways may be practised by those in whose horoscope Shatabhishak plays a part. It goes without saying that the natural way is to be preferred. The feeling of being connected to the cosmos gives rise to a philosophical tendency. A Shatabhishak type of person has a vision about how life could be on this earth. This might lead to a feeling of uneasiness with how things are in reality. He looks for seclusion in order to be able to experience unity with the cosmos. This is symbolised by the circle. On the one hand the limit of the circle represents seclusion, on the other hand it indicates the 0, which is a symbol of unity. The forms have disappeared and only nothing, which at the same time represents everything, remains. The spiritual path belonging to this constellation is that of silent meditation. Ways of meditation like Vipassana or Zen are particularly suited. I have just returned from the 9th International Vedic Conference in London and wish to share some of the knowledge and spiritual wisdom that I have learnt.
Mars is a Spiritual Warrior and the Rahu/Ketu axis represents the karmic cycle of life and death rebirth. They are both in the lunar mansion of Shatabhishak which has the shakti of healing.
Symbol: an empty circle.
Deity: Varuna (Neptune), god of the water and the night.
Keywords: secrets, alcohol, seclusion, philosophical, meditation.
Translation: a hundred healers.
Shatabhishak is a meditative constellation. Varuna is a god who plays a major part in the most ancient Vedic scriptures. It is the god of the night who makes forms fade away. When forms are no longer visible, only unity remains.
VARUNA is a minor planet and is situated close to Pluto in the area known as the Kuiper Belt. It was discovered on November 28th 2000 and is named after the Hindu god Varuna.
Swami Vishwananda of the lineage of Babaji. Thursday 26th April at 18.30pm Friends Meeting House, Ship Street BN1 1AF.
The evening will consist of Sanskrit devotional songs, prayers and blessing. Admittance free, donations welcome. Seating is provided but if you want to sit on the floor bring a cushion. Everyone is welcome. See his website www.bhaktimarga.org
This Saturday I will be facilitating a workshop on Neptune. This is the key to our creativity. It rules the pineal gland, known as the Third eye. It is the energy of Christ consciousness, the awakening to our spiritual source.
• Neptune in your birth chart, through sign and house. Your idealism and spiritual vision.
• Your 12th house and its ruler which connects you to the source of your creativity.
• Connecting with your intuition and psychic awareness with Aura-Soma ‘Star Child’.

Varuna God of the water and the night. He represents the mysteries and the laws of the gods. He rules magical power. He represents the inner reality of things, higher truth and order.
