Posted by Rifa on 8/4/2007, 5:33 pm, in reply to "(no subject)" I hope you are feeling better today. Yes, reiki treatments can bring on strong reactions - and two reiki people together magnifies the energy, so it's something to be aware of. Maybe the energy levels are different as well, as your friend doesn't have the same lineage as you..it's sometimes called 'spiritual IQ'. It sounds like SHE needed to ground more. I have felt in the past a bit wobbly giving treatments, but then I remembered to put my roots into the ground and ask the universe for protection and I could continue with the treatment. But I've never felt anything like 'passing out' before. Your question is interesting - can we pick up negative energy from therapists or clients?? Well, if you ground, protect and ask for guidance, before you give or receive treatments then you should be OK, in a spiritual sense. But let's face it, we can pick up negativity all the time: a relative can say 'you've put on weight' or someone can be rude to you on the bus...it's how we choose to deal with it. I tend not to give free treatments or swaps anymore..I find they can be draining and if the other person is not on your level, (or on your spiritual IQ), you can be giving more than receiving. It's something you may have to learn to deal with, but I can send you distant healing to combat it. Just try and be more discerning, get to know someone first before you let them give you healing..you'd be picky about a new hair stylist, so be picky about who gives you healing Anyway, I'll send you some healing and all the best in your new life in Bristol.
