Espace gearbox

Just got a 96 Espace 2.1 Td with gearbox probs ie difficult to get out of 2nd and slips out of 3rd.
I knew this when I bought it and price reflected this.I am finding it difficult to locate a second hand box at a realistic price and wondered if any boffins out there knew if any other box would fit like a Renault Traffic or 25.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Frank
