Did you have a lumpectomy? I had a lumpectomy followed by rads. When I had my first mammogram at 6 months they found calcifications in the same breast. I ended up having stereotactic bx followed by a wide excisional bx. Cancer was never found . My docs were suggesting a mastectomy to be safe but I told them I would not have it until we found the cancer. So I had an MRI which was clear. I also had fluid in my breast. And...I still sometime have fluid in my breast. My surgeon said that it sometimes happens because of the scar tissue.
I also went for a second opinion at a major medical center near where I live. Out of all that I ended up saving my breast, went on a close watch protocol for a year. Right now I am waiting for the results of my latest mammogram and MRI. If they come back OK then I go off the close watch protocol.
So my suggestion to you is really push for the MRI and if you need to go through another bx do it. And, to be honest if the insurance company won't pay for it I would have it anyhow even If I had to pay for it out of pocket. I know it costs a bit.
You also may want to get someone else to read the mammogram (a second opinion).
Also, remember that it takes time for our bodies to heal. Hang in there and really push for what you need.
