I am a caregiver for a wife, early 50's, diagnosed with bc 2+ years ago, after bilateral mastectomies and chemo treatments we think we are in the clear. A year and a half later we find out she has mets to bone and we have been dealing with that for half a year. If you are mets you know the uncertainty we are dealing with. My question is of the ladies here with mets; do you work? full time? She is now working full time and I think it is wearing her down. On the one hand I am afraid it will tire her out too much to fight the cancer, but on the other hand going on disability feels like quitting. Are you part time? disability? If we are lucky she will have 10 years or more, I would think a realistic expectation is at least another 5 years, can you be on disabilty that long? How much of her current pay can she receive on disability?
