Hi, I am new to this board and saying "hi". I just found out I have a recurrence about a month ago. I was first diagnosed in March of 2008, did the whole bit, chemo, double mastectomy, radiation and had been cancer free for 3 years now until then. Started having pain in my chest, thought I was having a heart attack and they found two very tiny tumors in a string of lymph nodes behind my breast bone between my lung and heart (not operable of course). So I've already had my first round of chemo and have my second today. My oncologist says he's pretty sure we can wipe them out with this chemo onslaught since they are so small, but might have to do some pinpoint radiation as well. Of course, gonna loose my hair again as well as all the other wonderful side effects of the chemo, but been there, done that! Pretty bummed about it and just needed to spill my guts to someone who's been through it too! It's hard enough hearing "you've got cancer" the first time. But it was even harder for me hearing it the second time!! I guess I was hoping that that part of my life was behind me. It just seems to be more of a reality this time. Does that make sense? Give me some tips for getting past it please. Thanks, Pink Lady in South Texas
