I was reading over on the Chemo/treatment boards that Barb was talking about trials that are out there. I am newly diagnosed, 3 1/2 weeks out of double mast and waiting for chemo. I am er/pr negative and HERneu2+++. I will be getting the standard Hercdeptin, but my onc is getting me in a protocol trial using Lopatnib(sp?). The Lopatnib does break the blood/brain barrier and they are studying to see if it can be used as a replacement for herceptin, or how best to use it in conjuction with Herceptin. I have been so besieged with information since my dx on June 19 that I really haven't looked into this study. I see my onc again on Tuesday and will know more about it. I hope this info was helpful to someone!
