Lovenox for a Blot Clot

Dear Ladies,
My sister just recently developed a blot clot in her lung. Now, she has to get injections of Lovenox (a blood thinner) for six months. Is anyone else getting these injections? I'm just curious to know what we can expect, side affects, long term affects, etc.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
