Hi,
I was on here about a year ago with Breast Cancer, Right side full radical Mysectomy with 17 lymph nodes removed, all you ladies were so supportive, and I am back looking for that again.
I was told Wednesday I have Stage IV Cancer Below is the type of treatments I will be getting and the PET CT FINDINGS: I am looking for engouraging words, Prayers, I had just finished my last Herceptin treatment end of January, went thrua couple of exrays, a CT Scan, then the PET scan full body
The treatment, starts on Wednesday March 18th I start on a IV drip thru my port of a chemo drug they call Avastin, takes 4 hours to drip thru, it is a very strong chemo. Same symptoms like last time, loss of hair sores in my mouth, white blood cell count will be low, nausea, fatique, very tired, throwing up, then the following week on Wednesday also is another IV drip called ABRAXANE half hour drip, get one week off then back on the next week with the AVISTAN.
Reading this directly from the PET CT Findings: BRAIN: NO abnormal activity present within the brain, CHEST: Bilateral metabolic malignancy on the pulmonary (lungs) are seen of the right lower lobe, the size of that tumor is 1.1-cm additionally, within the inferior portion of the left lower lobe of lung, there is a 1-cm pulmonary nodule BREAST STERNUM there is a large hypermetabolic mass arising from the sternum which demonstratesabnormal hypermetabolic activity compatible with malignancy. This is causing cortical destruction of the sternum and involves the anterior chest wall. This measures 3.5 x4.3 cm. Additionally, more inferiorly, there is increased metabolic (cancer) activity which corresponds to a 7-mm soft tissue density. ABODOMEN AND PELVIS: THE RIGHT ADRENAL GLAND DEMONSTRATES ABNORMAL HYPERMETABOLIC ACTIVITY COMPATABLE TO MALIGNANCY.The right adrenal is diffusely enlarged, meauring 5.4 x 2.3 cm. Other wise no focal areas of abnormal hypermetabolic activity is present. with in the abdomen or pelvis. There is cortical destruction of the sternum as discussed above ABDOMEN AND PELVIS: As discussed above The left Adrenal Gland is unremarkable in appearance. The liver and spleen are uniform in appearance witout abnormalities. The Bowel is of normal course and caliber, there is no obstruction identified. No other lytic or blastic lesions are present.Any good news or a story of remission I would love to hear.
God Bless Ya Karen Summers
