If her only met is a node under her arm, why is surgery not an option???
I'm considered stage IV and started out pr+her2+ but am now trpl neg. I've had mets removed surgically from four places. Three in the chest wall, the last one in Dec. was in my chest wall and an interior mammory node under my breatbone. That was a major surgery!!! But so far so good. No signs of new mets. I'm having a pet to make sure next month but got to be healed up real well first.
Like Glenine said, I'd be asking for second opinions on this one. Lots of gals I know have nodes removed under their arms, including me, before chemo even began. Also, like Glenine, my onc said no more chemo unless something else shows up.
I hope this helps your sister find some answers and get the help she needs.
Hugs,
Penny
