Welcome Joyce... not to rain on your parade in any way but I wish I had the info I'm about to give you:
I too had/have inflammatory bc. I was diagnosed April 2007, had six months of chemo, bilat mastectomy and five weeks of rads. It was all good at that point, NED. I went down to florida in February and started to have headaches. Came home, brain mets.
I HAD NEVER HAD A BRAIN MRI!!!
What they have started to find is her+ gals are getting brain mets before mets elsewhere.
Ive done well in my treatment for the brain mets... but I would be doing a whole lot better if they had been found earlier.
After rads ask for a brain MRI. If your doc argues apparently there was a study proving this phenomenon (IBC and brain mets) that was hot off the presses just as I was going through this (November 2007 it was published I think.
If I were you I'd get a copy of the paper for your onc and ask for a brain mri. And pay attention to headaches... I didnt.
