Dear Pattie,
I am so sorry that you are going through all of this again. I had Abraxane last year and was started on the (once every three week) schedule. I did not take Neulasta with the Abaxane..count stayed up....BUT I had severe musculoskeletal pain after the first dose of Abraxane. The onc then changed the Abraxane schedule (at a lower dose) to once a week for 12 weeks. No more pain...at all.... yet I received the full therapeutic dose. Perhaps your onc might consider that schedule.
Since Abraxane is a new formulation of Taxol...the side effects are many times the same. I was prescribed Nexium for the "reflux" and needed to really monitor my diet not only because of the GERD but also because of the problem with diarrhea. Perhaps your onc can prescribe something prophylactically to keep your colon calmed down and healthy since you have a recent history of problems. You are a good candidate for a special diet that is friendly to the tummy. Check with your onc or primary care doc re this....if you still need more diet info I can refer you to some really good nutrition sites. American Cancer Society is one. Hope that this helps. You are a determined warrior and I truly admire that. You are in my thoughts and prayers for a successful outcome....and no more tummy "stuff"
Hugs,
Peg
