I have been feeling pretty well - In the beginning I did 6 months of weekly Taxol, Carboplatinum, and Herceptin along with Lupron shot for menopause and Femara. Last December 2006 I went off of Taxol and Carbo and had my mastectomy - I was to go back on them after healing but onc. said I was doing well so he just left me on the Herceptin, Lupron, and Femara. I am in pain from the Femara but it is doable and I have recently had to stop the Herceptin due to a low ejection fraction of the heart - the cardiologist my onc. sent me to wants me to stay off the Herceptin but the onc. has conferred with others including MD Anderson and thinks that I need to go back on it soon as he is worried about my liver mets starting up again - they have been NED for a while now - I will have an echocardiogram and see him Feb. 3 to see what the game plan is - I am glad you had an amazing Christmas - we did as well - and it is snowing again - I just love the snow it is so pretty - What have you done for your brain mets?? - I have a friend locally who has brain mets - luckily it was a solitary one and they were able to go and surgically remove it and then they followed that up by cyberknife and now she is doing Taxol and Zometa as she has bone mets also - She has had brain mets for about 4 months and so far all of her scans have came back good and I am hoping this continues for her. I am happy you are having a good time with the holidays and I hope you have and even better 2008 - I know that since cancer I cherish the holidays so much more!! Sending hugs your way!!
