Hi Anne, I had 5 mets to my brain with gamma knife to attack them. I am waiting to find out the result of my MRI from Wed. I guess not every radiologist can read a brain MRI and tell if gamma knife is successful. I sure hope so! We only knew about 2 mets before the scan. After the more sensitive scan, the doctors found 5 and said that they got them all. The whole procedure was no big deal. My doctors are Dr. Copeland and Dr. Kotecha. Have you looked into this? I live in Michigan. I know that Henry Ford Hospitals have a similiar machine to the one at our hospital. My doctor at Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit was fine with our choice of gamma knife. Much less side effects than the whole brain. Please look at this. You can stay at my home and have the gamma knife 10 minutes away. nlbicknell@charter.net
Pre-first MRI, only symptom was a numbness behind my left eye. I don't want whole brain radiation.
