Hi Robin, I am sorry about your cardiomyopathy. The damage done to the heart by Adriamycin has been known for at least 25 years (when I was in pharmacy school.) With cancer survivors, the effects may occur even a long time after the administration of Adriamycin. That is why there is a maximum lifetime dose. Symptoms could be the irregular heart beats that you experience, trouble breathing, tiredness, swelling of your ankles and probably more. I believe the treatment is dependent on what the symptom is. Women are treated with cardiac medications. So - when is my shortness of breath from Adriamycin or met to lung? What a circle. I hope that your symptoms are benign. Nancy
