Your cancer clinic should give you a descriptive handout regarding Navelbine(Vinorelbine). You will have bloodwork(BUN, and serum uric acid) and a urine creatinine clearance done before and during therapy. It is very important to be well-hydrated before, during and after administration of this drug. This drug can be very toxic to your kidneys so it is very important to report any significant decrease in urine production(<30cc/hr). Like other chemo agents, this drug will knock down your red and white blood cells AND platelets so you need to avoid crowds and people with infections and monitor your mouth daily for any bleeding. Some people have muscle pain and others may develop some peripheral neuropathy in feet that can temporarily cause you to walk with "floppy feet". These are pretty "extreme" side-effects, but I believe everyone taking it should be aware of them. It does not mean you will have any of them.....but it does have the potential to do these things. Let us know how you do. Hugs and prayers, Di
