Hi Matti - - I just had my thorocentesis done this morning: 1860 cc of fluid drained off. The radiologist again offered me the alternative of sealing the lining to the lung. He had no better explanation of what would happen if fluid continued to form. His take was the irritant irritated the tumors that are "weeping" enough so that they would not do that any more, therefore no fluid would form. From your post, I am not convinced. I'm so sorry that you cannot call yours successful plus you had to deal with it without any anesthesia. Is that what they meant when they used to say the cure was worse than the disease??? My cancer brain prevents me from even remembering the name of this morning's sedation, but it worked very well. Prayers for you and yours and all on this board.
