I first visited this site back in 2001- was 25 at the time, diagnosed with stage 2 node negative ER PR- Her2+ breast cancer. Underwent unilateral mastectomy, no reconstruction, followed by 4 rounds AC chemo. Fast forward 13 years- have done great, got married, had two kids. Last month went for annual mammogram and another cancer was detected in the other breast. This time, stage 1 ER PR + Her2- node negative cancer. Decided to have another mastectomy, no reconstruction, this time sentinel node biopsy. Am waiting on results from oncotype Dx test to decide about chemo, but my oncologist thinks I have a low risk for needing it. Hopefully just tamoxifen. Also had genetic testing and everything was fine. I am now three weeks past surgery, but still pretty sore. Was wondering how long I should expect soreness to last. I am a stay at home mom to two young children, so I may be overdoing it. Husband went back to work last week. Last time I had to have pt for a month, but thankfully my arm isn't too bad this time. Any advice appreciated!
